Liposuction Malaga
BODY SURGERY
Liposuction also referred to as “liposculpture”, is a form of surgical “body contouring” that aims to reduce focal subcutaneous, suprafascial fat accumulation at various sites by transcutaneous vacuum-assisted extraction of fat particles through small punctures in the skin.
Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed in Malaga and the Costa del Sol area, because it is particularly well suited to people who are at or near their ideal body weight and still have fat deposits.

More about Liposuction
Liposuction applies vacuum suction to a hollow tube, called a cannula, which is inserted under the skin. When the vacuum is turned on, the force of the suction pulls fat out from beneath the skin surface. It is a surgical procedure that should be performed by a fully board-certified plastic surgeon, such as Dr. Ruiz Ruiz who is qualified to perform the entire spectrum of liposuction, from the finesse of localized bodysculpting, to massive or large volume liposuction.
Before Liposuction
Before liposuction, Dr. Ruiz Ruiz will evaluate your health, examine the fat deposits to be removed, and check the elasticity of your skin. Liposuction or liposculpture is not a treatment for obesity. The best time to consider liposuction is after you have stabilized your weight through diet and exercise.
During Liposuction
During a liposuction procedure, Dr. Ruiz Ruiz makes a small incision in the skin over the area to be treated and inserts a cannula under the skin.
She pushes and pulls the tube through the underlying layer of fat and suctions the fat away with a vacuum pump or syringe.
When one site is finished, Dr. Ruiz Ruiz moves to the next area until all the designated areas are treated. The small incisions are closed with stitches.
During and after surgery, you will be given intravenous fluids to replace the fluids that were suctioned out with the fat.
The amount of time needed to perform liposuction can vary substantially, depending on the volume of fat being removed, the number of body sites being treated, and the technique used. In general, liposuction takes from one to four hours.
After Liposuction
After the liposuction surgery, you may have to wear a tight fitting elastic garment over the treated area for a few weeks to help minimize swelling. Dr. Ruiz Ruiz will probably prescribe medication to help relieve any discomfort, along with antibiotics to prevent infection.
Most people who have liposuction can go back to work a few days after the procedure. The stitches are removed or will dissolve on their own in seven to ten days.
